The Office of the Children’s Guardian invites you to have your say about the laws related to the Working With Children Check in NSW.

What’s this about?

More than 1.3 million people have a Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance in NSW.

Nearly 30,000 organisations and individuals are also registered to verify that the person they have engaged is not barred from child-related work.

The Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012(external link) is due for review to determine whether the:

  • policy objectives of the Act are still valid
  • legislation is still appropriate for achieving those objectives.

The Office of the Children’s Guardian is seeking feedback from individuals and organisations.

The outcomes of the review will inform a report to NSW Parliament and help the NSW Government to further strengthen the WWCC scheme.

Have your say
